My mate reckons that his Military model would be the best defence from an attack by Thumb-thumbs out of "Spy Kids", but I think you can't beat a good old Police model. Can someone please put him straight?

Yes Milkybar Kid, you are right. Any attack by a Thumb-thumb can be very serious, even without an edged weapon to defend yourself, but as a Thumb-thumb is obviously made out of thumbs, they would find it very easy to get a linerlock model such as the SC-36 closed on your fingers. The Police make their model like that for a reason you know!
