Hi, I'm new to this forum by the way...
I've never had a spyderco before but now I have decided to buy a Delica FRN with a combo blade... What do you guys think about that for a first knife? The main use will be outdoor and every day use. I don't want a too big of a knife, neither too small.
By the way, I've read a couple of threads on this forum, and damn, you are ****in obsessed with your "spydies". It seems like a good product, but come on guys... It's only a knife.

Whoa....helluva first post! First welcome, glad to have you. Second, I'm not a saint, but tone down the cussing. Some folks don't cotton to it much. Third, what did you expect from us? It's a Spyderco site after all. Fourth, a Delica would make a wise choice for a first knife, although you'll get a ton of opinions on blade style. Me, I carry a Delica plain edge for a EDC and I'm very happy with it.

Crisp,
The Delica was my first Spyderco as well. I think it is one of, if not the best Spyder for EDC. Its light, sized just right, and has tons of cutting power.
You made a wise choice. Although, buying a :spyder: is never a bad choice. :D
Welcome to the forums and the wonderful world of Spyderco. :)

Welcome Crisp. The Delica was my first knife and also my fathers first Spyderco. I also agree with what greencobra said. Take care.

I didn't mean to be rude, I'm just curious about what it is that makes the spydies worth over a thousand posts and hours searching through movies that may show a spyderco for a three seconds, etc... Maybe I'll understand when I get my Delica.
I wouldn't normally mess around with americans carrying sharp knifes, but scince I'm in a different country n all... It makes it all so much easier...

crisp, no offense taken. It's a hobby, that's all. It's fun, the people are cool, we all get along and pretty much know each other. Hopefully, you'll like the knives and us, and hang out with us. You're very much welcome here.
And I should mention, we don't all come from the US. This forum is world wide. A lot of countries represented here.

Welcome Crisp,
The Delica would probably be an excellent choice although I don't have one. I started out with its bigger brother the Endura.
I am sure your first post has already been researched by the Secret Spyderco Service. Ip address, background check etc. I hope you have not been considered a threat just yet. If you see two guys at the door with a Spyderco logo on their clothes and their hands in their pockets you could be in a lot of trouble however.
välkommen till forumet !

Welcome to this forum. The Delica is a great knife. I've got the SE/version(just like 90% of all of my knives)

Welcome. I don't have nearly as many Spydercos as most here, but here's my experience. The Spyderco Standard (about the size of the Delica)
I bought over 20 years ago is still going strong. Its my every day carry knife, 90% of the time. Opened and closed it 1000s of times, still no blade wiggle or rust. Except for a few scraches it looks fine. If you want a knife that will last a long time, get a Spyderco.

Wel, the Delica II PE is my first :spyder: too, and I'm very happy about it. (it's AUS6, and not VG-10, unlike the Delica. but that's what you've got a sharpmaker for)
