Sharpmaker Rods

Hi everyone I love the Sharpmarker but I bought a new one and seem to be having problems it does not remove metal evenly on the corners it's like there is a coating on the white rods my old ones leave a pencil lead size mark on the corners but the new ones leave about a hair size mark from the metal being removed.Do the white ones have glazing on them?Has anyone else have had this problem? Hi Zorro. There is no glaze on the surface of the white stones.

A harder steel will leave a thinner line.

You might try rubbing the corners together.
