Hi Thalium. The SpyderRench is currently so backordered, it's not likely you will find one.

BTW, The SpyderCard and Shabaria were both designed by Eduard Bradichansky.

What do you plan to do with the knife? Is it a carry piece, collection, etc?

Both the Military and Shabaria are in the 100mm blade length range and they lock open. I believe they are illegal to carry in the UK.

Spydercard
-great piece, a must have knife

SpydeRench
-I want one, but not for $160+ taxes

military
-Plain edge is good, a bit too big for my hands, but nicely done.

Eduard Bradichansky Shabaria
-The handle doesn't fit my hands. I have normal sized palms, and long fingers.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

no experience with the Shabaria YET

but if you need a knife; Military with plain edge is the choice.

if you need a tools, than spyderench is the best

a simple tools than spydercard is the choice

it depend on your need to utilise it.

sal, i didn't know that in uk it's illegal to carry 4" knife. i got a few uk guys working together with me here, an non of them did mention about it. another knowledge for me.

I have used both the Military and the Spyderench extensively. While I love them both, I find that more and more I'm using the Military as my primary tool.

People either love or hate the Spyderench - there is no in between here. The Spyderench has many more capabilities, but the knife doesn't open as easily and the two pieces sometimes come apart in my pocket (this is more of an annoyance, as I've never lost or dropped either piece). This tool is regarded, by non-knife people, as wierd looking.

The Military is a light but serious knife. In addition to being an excellent tool, it also has tactical capabilities. The Military will be taken to be a serios weapon by both bad guys and cocktail types.

One way or the other, you pay for your tools!

Dude ~ Get ALL of them! *hee-hee!*
I hope the Spydewrench had evolved a bit since mine was the first production run.. Its a nippy little tool which all Spydernuts should have if they work around machines!
Spydercard? Yeah, never leave home without it... I'm learning to appreciate the 50-50 edge card since I gave my plainedged away. Its a cutting tool you can't do without!
Military is my EDC piece. The new 2001 model saw plenty of improvements! I pack this with Mike Sastre's sheath in my outings!
Ahhhh, lastly, the Shabaria. Lovely work of art!! Gotta have it!
Well, UK laws are similar to the Malaysian Penal code. Any blade in access of 3" is considered "illegal" for concealed carry. But if the authority would want to pick a bone with you, they can arrest you for carrying a nail clipper..

there are some loop holes in any law ie in the uk you can carry any knive as long as you can justif it is for work or religion.
i will probable go for the shabaria or military at the moment.
shame about the backorder on the rench.

If you have inquired about joining Spyderco's Collectors Club and were disappointed to learn that back issues are not available - now's your chance.

For sale is my collection of 32 Spyderco Collectors knives, all engraved with collector number 177 PLUS an autographed copy of "The Spyderco Story" and the club issued Triangle Sharpmaker. As a bonus the unusual Jot Singh Khalsa is included (not a club issue) for a total of 33 knives.

Drop me a line if interested. I can email you with an Excel spread sheet with the details. Thanks!
