The Natives w/shell inlays look nice. Can anyone comment on how robust the inlays are? Brittle if dropped? Break if handle twisted or flexed? Problems for gripping?

IMHO, Native is a terrific MOR knife - good enough to be acceptable even for the most demanding applications (even if not every connesieur's first choice) and reasonable in price to be available to all. Inlays look nice, but don't want to degrade utility just for looks. The lint in my pocket is all that will see the inlay anyway!

I don't get complaints about the inlays giving anyone problems as far a griping concern. And i haven't seen one chip or crack.
We will be coming out with a non inlay version in the furture I'm told. Hope this helps.

Hi Ejt. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

We've had good results with the shell. It is a natural shell, sliced thin, layhered and laminated to G10.
