I am a huge Good Eats fan and was watching last night when he wipped out what looked to be a Delica 2 and cut some lettuce. It's cool to see Spydercos on TV. Alton Brown just became even cooler in my book! (for those who don't watch, Good Eats is a cooking show on food network). I just thought I would share.....

must admit- i use my spydercos for all sorts of kitchen related duties. they work great, and are usually sharper than the house knives wherever i might be. however- you get some odd looks now and again- like using a para to cut a steak @ the steakhouse because the restaraunt knife is good for butter and not much else. also, a buddy turned some heads when we used a civilian to trim some chickens at a cookout prior to beer-butting them, but it worked great.

Alton Brown is a big knife nut. He currently has an association with Kershaw in promoting their phenomenal kitchen knife line.

For those of you who go to Blade Show, he usually is in attendance at the Kershaw booth but unexpectedly missed the show this year. Next year!

I'll have to look for him at the blade show next year. I go every year so I've probably walked right past him!

As am I in fact i think theres 2 episodes w/ spyders in them. If anybody watches the power block on Spike TV Stacy David of Trucks uses a spyderco.

Alton Brown is great fun. A sense of humour and a "sense" of science, too.

I saved this pic from the big Spydie Sightings thread.

The pics seem to be down now though. Glad I saved them.

Yeah, Alton Brown's show Good Eats is great. He doesn't just show you how to do it but why to do it. Smart and funny guy too. I've seen him with a Syderco once or twice on the show. I have some japanese kitchen knives made by Shun. Alton has a line of knives with them. They have a logo of Alton's head with spiked up hair on the blade. Excellant knives.

He tells people to get a pro to sharpen, but hey, better than some idiot ruining his knife and blaming him
