Sal, Bram, Anyone?
I'm on a quest for a Spyderco "R" knife I think it's called. It's like the little laser cut "Q" knife but I'd say Endura sized. I also heard over in MBC forum that they also had those in the aluminum handles. I'd be interested in acquiring one or both of this model.
Hi Chambers. the "R" was made only with aluminum handles (almite). I believe we only made 1200 of them. there are a few out there, but I couldn't guess as to where to find one.

I also got one from John, very nice and helpful, when I mentioned my roommate had ordered a "R" knife earlier in the day he offered to ship it with his so we could split the shipping costs.

Hi Sal,
You are welcome. That's what we are here for - to make Spyderco a name of integrity and service :><img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

Chambers, will the "R" be your daily carry or is it for your collection? I'm still trying to hear comments about blade maintenance from someone who carry it frequently. In particular, what is the experience with cleaning and rust prevention.

Toothed,
The "R" would be just a 'cool' knife for me. I'd carry it every once in a while but not as a primary knife. Though I've no doubts as to it's quality and I'm sure it could be and EDC knife it's just not what I'm looking for in that catagory.
