To getting my new :spyder: Spyderfly, could anybody please give a new user some inputs on it?
This is a yearlong dream comin' true, and my heart beats faster every time my twisted mind passes the picture in my head of me holding my latest edition to the collection.
According to UPS they will be delivering tomorrow :)

The spyderfly is real nice...when they first came out I didn't like it...that's because I was use to handling flat handled balisongs...I got one anyway...and after time I have come to love it...the action is smooth...built tough to last like all :spyder:s and I love the pop up latch when you squeeze the handles together...all in all it's a winner....Doc :D

Thank you very much for the info, Doc. I found an old thread with lots and lots on the :spyder: fly and even found a very good link to a page called balisong collector. Now i want it even more. Can't wait until tomorrow.

Hi there Fairlane,

...and I'm really happy with it. The review by the Balisongcollector is great and probably "what put me over the edge" to get the knife. The handles are indeed heavier than flat handled balisongs and somewhat slower but the construction and quality is excellent and the spearpoint blade is impressive... I got a rainbow one so that I can "enjoy the colors" while playing! :)

Aloha and welcome Fairlane,

The Spyderfly takes some getting used to due to it's handle shape and heavy latch ends...when dancing with it, the balance feels offset...not as speedy as the BM's or an CS, but as they say, practice makes perfect.

I too, like Dr. Snubnose, like that "squeeze and go" feature! ;)

Thank you all for the info, i'm so excited i actually might have to leave work early...
I'll post some pic's as soon as i can leave it long enough to get out my camera.
Those who wait for something good, does not wait in vane, as my mother always told me.
I might even consider getting an CS balisong as well, now.
Boy, this will be an expensive year.

Finally, as i came home today, my new :spyder: fly had arrived. A long wait is finally over, and i'm the happy owner of a great Balisong knife.
As i promised earlier in the thread here's acouple o' pics.
One with my current edc, a progrip, and one with my old Military, who has seen active duty and the progrip. sorry for the bad quality, i'll get some better quality ones later on.

I envy you. Those are illegal to carry in my state. Yeah, I could get one but then I'd be tempted to carry it.................so rather than be tempted I'll settle for Spyderco's other models. (sigh)
