I recently had a new black Yojimbo that I purchased on Ebay from the USA seized by Canada Customs. They said that it opened via centrifical force (by flicking it open...) and thus was prohibited. I managed to get an exemption & just received the knife today. I had to send them a letter from my boss certifying that I am required to use assisted opening knives for my work ( I'm military & involved with EOD/bomb disposal response & training) Anyway, up here if your not military/police/ or fire fighter/EMT then your out of luck if customs seizes your folder. I guess I'm a confirmed Spydie convert as I've accumulated the following in my collection: (1)Military C36GPBK, (2)Yujimbo Black & Blue, (2) Ronin FB09P, (1) Endura C10P, (1) Lil Temperance C69GS (EDC), (1) Native II C41PS, (1) CX01P Experimental (Pegasus prototype I'm told...) and finally an old Ladybug. Anyway hello to the forum & it's a pleasure to read tyhe posts. Cheers.

Geez, though. Yeah, most folders can open if you flick it hard enough, but that's not the intent of the design. I hardly ever cross the border, but if I ever do, this leads me to wonder which knife will I bring that won't get me in trouble and that I won't mind losing.

Glad you got your knife back!

Hello Ammoguy and welcome to the forum!

I only have one tip, after selling a few Salsas to a buyer in BC. He told me to open the knives and screw down the pivot like crazy, until it's so tight, it won't close. It worked!!! He was happy, I was happy.

Just a tip,
Dave

Yes, I've asked a few sellers to do this for me also. The funny thing is the one's that I had tightened crossed the boarder without being opened. Oh well it's a good thing to try to do though...

I've got a 'Yo on its way to me right now and the seller tightened it for me...hopefully enough. If they take it like my Dodo I'll be pissed. I'm going to the US soon and am bringing back a Spyderfly (no balis allowed here) as my way of getting revenge for the Dodo they took...lol
