anybody else here interested in a 79mm "carribean" salt? (thought that would be a good name for it); i think the blunt tip rescue style blade is perfect for diving. i tried the atlantic salt and found it just a little bit too big.

H1 rescue Snap-it would be the shizzle.

the tasman salt is going to be the bomb-diggity. :D
and the fixed blade H1 knife spyderco is working on -- should be equally awesome.
personally, i don't really have a need for a small H1 rescue... but that's just me...

Well, seeing as how a PE Rescue Jr has been one of my dreams, as long as an H-1 version followed the Salt tradition of PE availability, you could count me in for a couple.
Problem with the SnapIt is that it's darn near impossible to operate left handed. Not a terrible thing in a "pocket knife", as long as you're right handed. But in a knife geared to emergency use, it's a weakness, as in those situations one does not always have the luxury of using ones strong hand. IMHO ambidexterity is a must in that type of knife. Now an H-1 rescue Remote Release would be a whole 'nother ballgame!

ok -- if it were available in plain edge, i'd definitely be in for a 79mm H1 rescue...

I like the remote release too. You'd probably need a Ti spring for the plunger though.

Count me in for one too. Fully serrated. Preferably Red or Blue or even better: just plain black FRN.

i really like the yellow. i dropped my atlantic salt in about 10 feet of water while snorkeling. had it not been bright yellow, i might not have found it.

Although if we drop the old 79mm from the catalog to make way for this model, let's be sure and have the new one also be available in orange!
That orange is a great color.

Preferably blue or black, but I'll settle for orange too.
Please Sal, then I won't be nagging for a fully serrated Manix anymore for a while...

I'm glad to see this thread isn't dead yet! I love the salt series, and I love the ergs and size of the rescue 79. But I'm just not an SE kind of guy and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would appreciate the option of a PE. Oh yeah, and I like the yellow handles too :p I'm still hoping Sal has something in the works for us :D

I agree with you, normally pe is much better...but people really seem to like the h1 se knives, while the pe knives seem to be just rather dull.... (I don't own any, just summarising what I read).
