Just a quick, possibly useless question:

When during the manufacturing process are screw holes for clips drilled? Meaning: are the clip screw holes a last step or more at the beginning of the process? The real question: would it be possible to order a, say, full size Wegner or Dragonfly SS or any other knife WITHOUT screw holes?

I love clips on some knives, hate them on others. That's why I'm asking. I carry a Wegner JR or Calypso JR in pocket, clipless all the time. If that Wegner had no screw holes in the scale... SHWEET!!!

Hi RLR. It would have to be "custom". The holes are "piloted" early in the process as they are used for fixturing. Later on, they are reamed or threaded depending on the function of the hole.

Thanks Sal, I figured so much, but hoped for a different answer. Oh well, all my spydies are still number one...

Maybe you could get a Get an aftermarket <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> inlay over the holes?
