Hot on the heels of my stainless Police model, I was fortunate to acquire for work a lightweight, serrated Native.

This is a fantastic knife! I can't get over the way it fits my hand and how immediately upon opening, my fingers just roll around and into the finger grooves.

The reason I chose the serrated version is mostly because I wanted to "test drive" the CPM-440V steel with a serrated edge so I can hopefully decide whether to plunk down the money for a serrated Military. This would be to go as companion to my plain edged Military; which I adore.

I think for camping and general outdoor use, I'll definitely want to eventually carry both of these. Why not?

Man, I am seriously hooked. - Jeff/1911.

Hi jeff, the native is a great knife. I have a lightweight with a straight edge. I've had it about 4 years and it is still going strong. I also have a lightweight endua that i got the first year it was released and it too is still going strong. It has'nt loosened up in the least.

Ronin203,

I like the serrated Native so much I think I'll have to buy a plain edged one as well. These knives just feel so good in my hand.

Cheers, Jeff/1911.

I agree. It just feels right in the saber, or the reverse grip. I'd like one with a 50/50 edge. But i prefer all my knives that way.

It is good to hear someone else as pleased with the Native as I have been with mine. Mine is plainedge, but that's my preference.

I think the Native is one of the most utilitarian knives I've ever seen. It's size and built-in choil(s) and finger grooves, just seem to fit me perfectly -- well probably no better than the Calypso Jr. It is quite a stout knife, so I feel I can tackle almost anything with it. The Calypso Jr Ltwt has a somehow fragile feeling for me, in comparison with the Native.

Have fun with your new toy(s)!

Thanks Stare,

As I mentioned; I bought this knife to help me to decide whether I really want a Military w/ serrations...(as both use a CPM-440V blade).

Well, based upon my recent experience with my plain edged Military and the serrated Native I've decided I now "need" a plain edged Native AND a serrated Military.

Like I said before, It seems that I am severely hooked. That's OK, at least I am among friends here.

I was slow to warm up to the Syder edge, but our Native has made me a fan. Our frn Native with G2 is my favorite serrated knife. What a work horse it is! RKBA!

I personally love serrated.
I bought a ladybug back in feb to test serrations. B/c of my opinion, I went and bought a Serrated (Tuffram) Cricket. Next purchase is a Dragonfly, plain/FRN for sheeple use.

Have fun with your spydies.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...
