diamond sliders for the sharpmaker?

Previous generation for 203 Sharpmaker. Slides over stone. Only one surface.

Now there are diamond rods. Triangle steel with diamonds on all surfaces. Much better. These cost more than a Sharpmaker though.

Some folks just clamp sandpaper to the stones.

Thanks for the info, spyderknut, the sleeves I found on ebay are supposedly only slightly used.
I'll see if I can buy them cheaply. :)
The way I see it they are the next best thing to the diamond stones, which I am not quite ready to buy yet.
