Reading about Daywalkers adventure with his Persian and subsequent emails from forumites has humbled me. When Daywalker first posted of the loss of his Persian I got several emails from Chad's friends immeadiately working toward replacing the knife. I'm honored to have a roll in this sea of consideration. No, it is not just a knife, it is a representation of a growing friendship. I'm very impressed at the quick responce by forumites to resolve Chad's loss. I'm honored to hang with the considerate group that frequents the forum. Friends support friends...Take Care...Ed

Yes Ed I think there are some serious friendships here, and the members of this forum are a pretty tight knit group for people who meet everyday on the net, Its really cool. I consider the people on this forum to be really good friends and I have never met a single one in person. It really is a great place and for Chad he is one of the most positive people on this forum or that I have ever known, so goodwill creates goodwill and its only reasonable that someone like Chad who gives alot will get alot in his times of need.

Mr. Schempp,

That means a great deal coming from you. I appreciate you being here for us to talk to.

Thanks for designing great knives :)

God Bless you!
David

I knew people were close in here, but I am surprised that a group of people immediatly got together to replace a knife that was taken. I'm honored to be in the company of such thoughtful people.

Well, after all, he is in the top three of most liked people of this forum (Mystery Contest). He seems a really nice guy to me too.

Aloha Ed!

I could not have said it better my friend. (Unless Hannibal wrote it our for me that is! :D )

I too, was deeply touched when I posted about the incident and how immediate the replies of, "I will contact Ed, I will reach Spyderco, let's all pitch in, I'm in, etc..." I have mentioned this before, and will continue to do so: I am blessed to know you all. These people play a larger part in my life than they will ever know...

Mahalo Ed, for thanking them. It truly is an honor to "...hang with the considerate group that frequents the forum", and it is my honor to know what that particular C83 represents in your eyes. ;) The feeling is mutual of course, otherwise I would not have been so bummed when I couldn't find it and no one would have tried to replace it...Yes, it's not just a knife at all!

God bless
Chad

Well Worker #9 has stolen my thunder again. But he is more than welcome to it. I totally agree with him about the comradery that is abundant here on this great Forum. I have only met 3 Forum member in Person and they all were quality people. Although I have not met most of you I still feel like I have made some of the best friends of my life here on this Forum.

Whatever must be done to replace Chad's knife please count me in. I felt so honored to be named with him and Deacon. Spyderco makes an unusally high quality knife. It only makes sense that unusally high quality people would be here on Spyderco's Forum. Whatever we have to do to help Chad through this debacle then please count me in. Right now my prayer is that the LORD will show Chad what happened to his knife. Also that the LORD will make a way for us to help replace his knife. GOD Bless you all :) :spyder:

Aloha #9!

Yup, this is a great place indeed! Thank you for your kind words...however, I dunno if I am one of the *most positive* people here, but my friend, when you work where I do, either two things will happen:

1: You let the negativity of working in such a Hell ruin your life...you become bitter and disgruntled. Not just on the job, but in everything.

OR

2: After being exposed to such negativity, you become more thankful and not take things for granted, for who knows what'll happen on your next shift? You hope, you pray...knowing that there is "something...someplace, better" than Hell. I just spent 32+ hours out of 48 in Hell...I always thank God when I am able to leave Hell in one piece, and come home to my family. My family here on the forum helps in taking away my time in Hell, something I will always be grateful for. I know there is something better for me instead of having to spend so much time in Hell, that Faith along with my friends here, pull me through.

I refuse to become a victim to the first example...and like I said, God along with people like you and my other friends here help me to stay the second example. ;)

Mahalo for your kind words #9... :)

God bless!

Sorry about the "seems" Daywalker. It's not always possible to say what you mean in another language ;) . Also, I can only judge you by the things you say and do on this forum. But I think you're a nice guy :D .

(damn English, why don't you people all speak Dutch ? :( [joking])

Ed's the man! I liked his work from the very beginning and after I got to know the maker, I like him even more :)
And this Forum is a very special community I'm honoured to be a part of. People here, people I've never actually got to meet face to face are my best friends.
BTW, Zwaplat, Chad is not nice, he's just sweet from the Danish cookies ;) But he's ours, so we take him the way he is ;)

Aloha Mr. Meinel!

LOL, I'll never get a "Big Head"...unless I get caught in a headlock by either Doc Snub, Michael Cook, UK KEN, thombrogan, or Dialex, my head then may get big and simply blow up!

Tell me about "not being liked"...I face it everyday in Hell!

God bless
