Hey, good afternoon, IL! :) Eric also designed the Poliwog and the Manix. That makes 4 for now. I'm pretty sure he'll get credit for the Manix 80mm (Mini-Manix), since he designed the bigger version. So, that'll be 5 total that made it to production.
Best wishes,

I, too, am an Eric Glesser devotee! I have his first 3 (Manix, Scorpius, and Dodo) and am in awe of his design skill. He definitely takes after dad! Do yourself a favor, check out the Manix (best hard-use Spydie I've owned). If its too big for your taste, wait a couple months until the Manix 80mm comes out. I'm sure you'll absolutely love at least one of the two!

Thank you, ghostrider! I was not aware of his involvement with the Byrds. I'll have to take a closer look now.

i stand corrected, i have 3 of his knives then. I am going to get a manix and mini manix eventually. and the polliwog is also on the list asap. the manix is a bit too big for my taste, but i want the tank feel, and love the materials. the crossbill and flight are also on the to get list. there are few knives that arnt on my list :)
thanks for all the info guys.

No problem, IL! :) I was previously unaware of Eric's influence with the Byrd models, so I'm very grateful you started this thread. Eric's work is awesome!

id say so, ive met few people who dont consider the dodo to be one of the finest knives in production. and imho the same can be said of the scorpius. i dont own a manix, but know many do and find it to be the best folder to date. and the spyderfly cought me off guard, i dont know how it slipped my mind, thanks kristi. so with all of this under his belt, im sure sal is verry proud.

IMHO Eric is a great knife designer with more daring desigs then Sal, i applaud that because i like my knives to look "weird" :)

Weird? IMHO the Dodo is one of the best looking knives in the lineup, and the scorpius has some great lines. I dont find either to be weird, not to say that some wouldnt, but to each his own.
