Greetings you all.
Recently I read a post about a formite losing a tooth of his SE Military rather easily(don't remember the name right now, sorry).
Does this really happen rather easy? Have any of you had such a problem?
As I have said previously, I carry my Military SE the most. I really love the knife. Generally I'm not a heavy cutter. I don't go out and cut cans, steel cables and such. I just like to have the confidence of having a capable folder with me when I REALLY need it and one that won't let me down.
My question is: Do I have to be extra careful with the serrations of S30V?
Many thanks in advance....

That was the first I have ever heard of it.

#9, first I heard of it too. I don't remember seeing the original post but have taken note of several people saying the S30V serrated blades weren't holding up as well as say VG-10. I'm a wanna see for myself person so I'd probably get one if I wanted it. I'm sure if under normal use, the problem would be remedied by W&R.

I think cans and cables are okay, all spydercos can handle that at least... just don't try concrete :)

I have a yojimbo that had chipping from hitting a staple when I stabbed at a bunch of papers stapled together. Also my Military has some chipping from cutting phone wire. I classify that as abuse but I think at most I would have expected the edge to dull, not chip. Honestly, I am somewhat dissapointed in the performance of the CPM S 30V steel so far. I have always loved Spyderco designs, though.

Aloha and welcome Kahrk9,
I never really had a prob with my Spyders loosing their teeth. I did have ONE tooth get lost though, but that was off the very "tip" of my ATS55 Rescue Jr.
My Cold Steels OTOH...oh boy... :o
God bless
