Greetings you all,
Today, the little son of my girlfriend got a bigger bed. The mattress of his old bed had to be thrown away. This was a spyderco moment(yes, Michael) for me. I decided to test the edge holding of S30V serrations and those of H1.
The inside of the mattress was made of 1 solid piece of the material they use to stuff toy animals(I don't know the english word for it) The outside was some sort of linnen.
For the test I used my Military/SE and my Pacific Salt/SE. Both were shaving sharp to begin with.
I cut 1/4 of the mattress in little pieces with my Mili and the rest with my Pacific.
After the cutting, the serrations of the Pacific were still as sharp as those of the Military which amazed me, because the Pacific did the most cutting. The plain edged tip of the Milie was sharper than that of the Pacific.
I did the sharpness test by cutting paper. Neither knife did shave hair anymore.
Within 5 minutes I had my Pacific back to shaving sharp. The Mili took at least twice as long.
Amazing steel, that H1....
