Greetings you all,

I wonder what's your most favourite Spider(the one you can't go even 3 days without) at the moment and why? Mine is the SE Military. This knife comes very close to being "the knife" for me. When I open it, hear the "clack", hold it and look at the mean serrated blade, I know that I have a very solid piece of cutting steel in my hand that won't let me down might I really need it. Over and over again I'm amazed of it's cutting power.

My Native C41PBK, because it is the only one I have. I do really like this knife though!!
I am waiting for my Calypso Jr Burgundy though :) :D

I rotate a lot of my Spydercos, but the one I favor the most is the Tim Zowada. Feels great in my hand, vg10 steel, dual liners and has to be the smoothest knife I own.

My Dyad had been my favorite knife for quite a while but this new Burgundy Callypso Jr. with ZDP-189 is becoming the apple of my eye. But in the Hawkbill category my SE version of the Spyderhawk is now a classic. Watch the price shoot skyward ;) :spyder:

For me, I would have to say my FRN Delica PE. I do carry more than a few folders with me all time, but the Delica, since I acquired it, has been there pretty well since the day I bought it. My Paramilitary is also there, but it does not see near the use my Delica does.

At the moment my favorite knife is the one that I received recently...a SE Lil Temp. The knife has perfect ergonomics, smooth action, it is solid as a rock, the blade is ~3", and the green G10 handle :D It would probably be suitable for any of my cutting tasks.

Aloha spydutch,

Well my friend...if you are talking EDC, it is my C83 Persian. Not only is it the most beautiful knife I ever carried, it is the ONLY knife I carry nowadays...why? This C83 is extremely ergonomic, way above average IMHO. I can grip it in every manner safely, the PE VG10 is easy to resharpen, it is tip up so I can "quick draw" with it like my ol' Delica/Endura/Matriarch etc... :p It was also a "trade" of sorts from the designer himself, and i promised that I would carry it until Dialex's model comes out. Then I will EDCR the two ;) .

God bless

I really can't answer this question but my Waved Endura still gets most pocket time.

That's a tough one... I'm still going to have to go with my Grey Calypso Jr. I just can not part with this baby...

Although I have about 35 Spyders in my rotation.

Still the Stretch. Could not fit my hand any better if Sal had used me for the model. On top of that, it performs all the tasks I ask of it. And, best of all, half the time or more, the job is done before I'm aware what knife I've used.

As of late, I have been carrying the chinook. Really like the feel of this knife. Feel like I could take on a grizzly bear with this knife! Opens real smooth, and stays sharp. Have a manix coming, can't wait to compare them.

Hard to pick and choose since it changes all the time. I'd say overall the simple lil' ol' Dragonfly...but that's always subject to change :)

Waved Endura and Dodo get the most pocket time. Both are kept psychotically sharp on a daily basis with light touching up on the white sharpmaker stones(I have hairless stripes on my right arm).

However my favorite is my S30V PE Gunting, which I do not carry on a daily basis, as I'm saving up for a sheath for it.

Dodo
not becuase it never leaves my pocket as i dont EDC it
purely for design reasons
it looks so cool and diffrent from other knives i have
i like the ball bearing lock ,the g-10 has a great feel to it (even though its not friendly to pockets) and the ergonomics of the handle are perfect for me
i must pick it up everyday when i am home
that said there are :spyder:'s that i dont own YET that could surplant the little fella when i get my mits on them

I've been carrying the plain Impala since it arrived. Mostly, I think, for the shape and design. It is very pleasing to my eye. The G-10 grips with a gentle caress my hand compared to 14 years of stainless police model. The choil and the two sets of thumb groves are also nice features. Looks like art rather than a tool. I also carry the spot mostly for defiance at work. "Security" checks everyone's lunch sack for who knows what, but I have my spydercos. :D

This is a hard question for me to answer, but I'm going to go with the Lum Chinese folder. It fits the hand well, has a large blade, and looks like a million bucks.

my ATR ss (PE)! i got it by chance. before i got it i thought of putting some g-10 or so on the steel liners, because i could not imagine pure steel as a good material for a knife grip. i first dindīt like to handle it. it had sharp edges and seemed to be not really comfortable. i put it in a box for several weeks. i even thougt of selling it. then i played with it a bit and had the idea of putting some tape on the left side of the handle.

suddentely i recognized the great shape of the handle, it felt simply fantastic in my hand with a bit grippy tape. i started to find out the sharp edges of the liners and broke them a little. since that time i handle it more and more. action is very smooth, lock up is very solid, no blade play at al, very good to open and to close one handed. grip changes are fantastic easy with using the index holes, really useful bladeshape, fine VG-10. it carries like a dream, very slim in pocket. to handle it gives me a secure feeling, because of the strong lock, the index choil which touches the index finger when closing, the great cobra hood and the holes in the handle which support grip for the fingertips.

it simply feels so good in my hand as it is, that nothing more is needed on the steel liners. besides my all time favorite Military (PE, S30V) and the great Lilī T (PE, S30V) that i got lately, which is simply too good to use for me yet, my liking of the ATRss grows from day to day. maybe the most important reason for this is the rather straight handle that is not so strongly curved. i am really glad, not to have sold it.

Best wishes
JB

It's a toss-up between the burgundy CJ and the SE Atlantic Salt as I'm carrying both for work.

The CJ is just insanely sharp and seems easy to get back that way. Plus the colours make it slightly more NKP-friendly ;)

The Atlantic is great too. I really like the yellow scales and SE has been growing on me for a while. The steel just seems so smooth to sharpen, like it self-lubricates or something. Very strange in a good way.

I must admit for those tasks where either will do I have trouble deciding which one to use!

The G-10 Police, long, slim, light, easy carry, great ergo's and just plain beautyful. If it where serated, it would be a rescue knife, a folding Fairbairn Sykes and a impact tool all in one bitching folder. Old school? Look again, handle one, see how the tip is allways there where you feel it should be. A very good design.

Lately ... I've sort of gotten hooked on carrying a SE SS Jester to work that I managed to buy from one of our guys ... For the last month or so, it has displaced my SE Cricket ... Thanks Dave! :) On weekends ... It's been a Stretch or black blade Endura. For jogging .... A SPOT ... Luv dem SPOTs ..

Hi Steve,
Glad to do it fer ya!
Jogging knives... a whole new thread. I often have a FRN DF clipped to my waist when I run. Pretty lightweight, sweat doesn't affect it and no distraction from added weight (not that I need any added weight when I jog!).
Take care,
Dave

A fellow SPOT joggger :D; works great for jogging...although I haven't had to slice any roasts, cut any magazines in half, chop up garden hose, dice onions, cut up Pepsi bottles, or shave any arm hair whilst jogging, the SPOt does seem to hang on all right. :D

My current favourites include my trusted Pro- grip, my Harpy and Delica.
I like the ruggednes of the Pro- Grip, i like the looks othe Harpy and the Delicas versability. Now, if i only get a Delica in ZDP-189, everything will be good :)

My current fav. :spyder: would be the black ParaMilitary PE.

The ergonomics of the Para do fit my hand perfectly. This knife is excellent for delicate cutting chores as well as heavy cutting. The flat ground blade cuts very effectively. The compression lock is very secure and one handed closing is easy.

In one word it's PERFECT.

I would say my current fav is the Poliwog - I just love how it feels in my hand and I love its smooth action. I think I'll need to get a neck sheath for this one.

My 2nd is probably the one I carry the most - FRN PE Cricket in kydex neck sheath - it's so convenient to access for some quick package openings, and whatnot.

And lastly, it's a toss up between the Ronin and the Viele 2. I love both and carry both regularly. They both have very different characteristics, but I love how both of them feel in my hand.

1. PE Salt - it's always with me
2. PE paramilitary - my #1 knife when I'm in the field
3. Lil Temp - if it was a little lighter it would be my EDC

Looking forward to the new Delica. It will prob be immediately promoted to #1

For me right now it has to be the R2! I can't believe I'm the only one. I can truley see why there are so many zdp calypso jr's and I have to say if I could pick a second it would be the zdp or the UK penknife. Now if the UK had a ball lock and blue or green G-10 then the king would be supplanted (is that a word  ).

My favorite would have to be my Standard. Been with me over 20 years now. It's flat, is imperceptible and unnoticeable in a back pocket and it doesnt wear holes in my pants like my wider Endura does. I keep on wanting to replace it for EDC with my Cara Cara or Crossbill but havent gotten around to it yet. I like all stainless knives because they don't take up much room.
