My first Soyderco was a delica several weeks ago. I just bought the triangle sharpmaker and I only have one word about it, "scary". I also bought a ladybug formy cousin, 17, and I think I will also get one for my girl unless anyone has any other suggestions. I am trying to figure out what my next one will be. I think I want something medium large, frn, and without a large belly. Any suggestions?

If you like the Delica and want something a little bigger, get a Endura. Same style as Delica, but bigger.

Get an Endura. i've been using it for quit some time. The most utilised knife for me.
And, welcome to the "club".

When I was 22, a large belly was 34". Now that I'm above that mark -- significantly in the last 2 years -- my definition of large belly has crept up into the 40s.
I know that isn't knives, but am not sure what you consider a large belly on a knife blade. If you could provide an example, that would be helpful. And, if you could outline for us what you see as the role this knife will play for you, then we could make even better suggestions.
Without knowing those definitions, my suggestion is the Wegner. Sorry, but it isn't FRN. It is big enough to take care of most heavy tasks, but not so large you feel like you have a log in your pocket.
Yes, it is heavier than the Endura/Delica group. But, it is a solidity sort of heavy. It just feels so right to me, and many others. Real good ergonomics, a much more effective tactical knife than many would guess, due to the advertising geared towards hunters. A liner lock, yes, but different than any other I've seen, in its construction.
I have a lot of trouble deciding whether the Wegner or the Native is my favorite Spyderco. Tho not everyone finds the Native to be ergonomic, it suits me very well. It has the best steel. It is extremely versatile/utilitarian, but would do in a pinch for self-defense.
If you can find one, look carefully at the Goddard Ltwt. It is fairly large, lightweight, a good self-defense choice, and a useful blade shape.
These are the only ones I own that might meet your needs, except the Calypso Jr Ltwt. I think it may be a bit frail for EDC, but know that many people carry it, and swear by it. Some consider it the best cutting knife around.
Good luck!

Hey Marauder -- another thread had a link to a different Spydie. Looked further to see what else they had -- have never used this seller before -- and found the Goddard Ltwt at a decent price. At least I think it is. I got mine on closeout at SMKW a while back, so everything looks high compared to that. Anyhow, here is the URL:
