Hey all, it's been a while for me, too long.
Been doing well(busy). My daughter is no longer "neckbraced",yeah!

Anyway that marine 1 is super cool, I know it's just a Helicopter but it is still cool. It just flew over my house(doesn't happen too often in so-cal), and though it won't be Marine 1 till later when George is on board, it is still cool. We saw the C5 fly by going to LAX and about 30 minutes later the Helicopters flew by(marine1 and the other bigger one). I hope that tonight I'll be able to see Airforce 1 and marine 1 again, I always get a kick out of them. My Daughters and I even got The Flag out to wave if We see the Helicopters later.

I lived in Maryland for a while, when "Ronnie" occupied the White House. My house must have been on the flight path between the White House and Camp David because Marine 1 (and escort) would fly over us on the weekend.

When I heard the choppers coming, I would run out on the deck to wave the single finger salute to show the pres I thought he was number one.

I would do the same for duh-bya.

:)

Why would you disrespect the president? Of either party?

Marine One and other vip helicopters as well as generic military stuff buzz up and down the Potomac River all day. It gets a little annoying especially at night when a desk jockey from the Pentagon goes hot-rodding to keep his flight hours up. Nothing like feeling the windows shake at one am as a Huey rolls by overhead  Just part of the joy of living near Washington DC I guess.

For freedom. Nobody dissed Sadam because there was no freedom. We are Americans and can express ourselves (MOL).

Does the President still land at Los Alamitos(Armed Forces Reserve Center)? My dad use to work there when we lived in Kalifornia and that's where Air Force One always landed.

Nope, at least not this time. He landed at LAX as he had a fundraiser in Beverly Hills which is not too far. He didn't come here to Simi where the Regan Library is until today. He(whoever was on the helo) flew over about 1:00 pm, I took out the flag and waved it to whoever was on board(could've been just a couple of Marine Pilots as far as I am concerened).
I heard where they landed from a neihbor and decided to take the girls over to see. We drove by on the street next to the park where they landed and saw both "Marine 1's" and 2 of the escort/support Sea Stallion's. They used school buses and City buses bumper to bumper as a baracade along the street. There was also lots of CHP officers, Military personell, as well as lots of guys in suits with sunglasses on. All of out local Police were up at the Library I learned from the Watch Commander.
Anyway fun was had by all,
Jeff

It's not like he was getting hummers in the Oval Office or anything.

Every time I hear military aircraft flying over, I call it the sound of freedom. Of course, when I lived on El Toro Marine Corps Air Station and was trying to sleep during the day(worked nights) those F-18's rattling the windows could get aggravating. I wonder if the engineer that put the officer's housing at the eastern end of the runway was an enlisted man...
