Scorpius lanyard hole

been looking for a PE scorpius lately, and i have noticed somthing. The lanyard hole on my SE is at the tip of the impact side, where as all the PE ones i have seen have the hole higher up near the pocket clip in tip up carry. Is this normal? or is one of theese designs an older variation? Whats the deal... do they make a PE w/ the hole down near the tip?

I just scanned ebay...it shows pics of both locations...don't know which came first though... :p

The hole that makes the knife look like a dolphin silhouette is the first (older) variation. I have no idea why it was changed.

Don't think Eric liked the "dolphin" look that the original position created. It also did not work particularly well, as the knife tended to go sideways if the lanyard was used to retreive it from ones pocket.
