Folks,

Well, I've finally got the money together and soon will get over to my local knife shop to buy the serrated Military I've been longing for. This knife will make a great complementary companion to my plain edged Military, I think. The one I hope to obtain is the new version with black lettering on the blade, as my other one is the old style with the engraved letters on it's blade.

I'll write back once I've got it home, with a little review of what I think. I've heard this model refferred to as a "folding chainsaw". I've got some small trees and bushes that need thinning and I think this mighty be just the ticket.

Well, I got it. My Serrated Military!

I just returned from picking the knife up at my local shop. It is truly beautiful. This new model (black lettered) version feels as though it has a slightly more precise (or perhaps tighter) lockup somehow than my plain edged one.

It is really smooth right out of the box, and has a somewhat different sound when locking up...kind of a less-hollow click than my other. Interesting.

Anyhow, now I can truly comment upon the differences between the diamond engraved style and laser cut style Militaries; at least as observed with my two specimens.

I am just looking around for something to cut now. Man, is this knife sharp. It is MUCH sharper than the plain edged one was when received, although that knife had been on display and perhaps "played with" some.
