Hi all. Just wanted to say, ive owned this blade for some 3 months now, and I'm in love. Spyderco, without doubt, makes sexy knives. The Police is a fist-full of solid stainless-steel confidence and reliability. I would like my next purchase to be either an all-black native, or a full-sized military. I shop at Le Baron outdoor products in Mississauga, ON, for my Spydercos. I just recently bought a Harpy from that location for $91.00CAD, as well as one of the two remaining G-10 Civilians, which cost me $219CAD even. (There was a sale with no tax included on all merchandise the one day :) While I appreciate the Civi's novelty, and trust the Harpy's charms, the Police secures its place hooked on the lip of my right front pocket almost everyday. Living in Canada, I dislike the idea of becoming too attached, because I don't want to have to send it to Golden when the inevitable play and dullness set in. My last Police was abused by inexperienced admirers, and never got the chance to pass customs because it was thrown away... I want to keep this one in excellent shape, and welcome your suggestions as to how to see to it that a Spyderco retires well past its glory days.
As for the Native/Military question, I'm torn between both worlds and would relish your input. Thanks to repondents.

Greetings Raus06,

I just got a SS Police at the end of last week and I love it! As far as caring for it I would keep it oiled (I use Militec) regularly, and try not to let it get too dull. As for the Native or Mili, I would go with the Military, of course that is my opinion yours may differ. The Mili is one of the best models :spyder: makes. If you like the Police, wait until you get your hands on a Mili. If you are gonna choose, get the best one that suits your needs. Both are great knives.

Bought my ss police last year, been carrying it in my boot the last few months. just keep the pivot clean(blow it out with air once in a while), and the blade oiled... thats all it takes.

as far as keeping it sharp, toss a 30deg edge on it, white corners of the 204, and thats all it takes.

You threw a police away?

With the money you have invested in knives, you should get a sharpmaker. Seriously, anyone can use it, no need to ever let your spydies get dull. It does take some practice to get things super sharp, but paper cutting sharp should be easy.

Watch the video, but sharpen all of your :spyder: knives at 30 degrees.
