Tim Wegner U.S. Marshal Spyderco

Does anyone know anything about this knife, I recently purchased one and the gentleman told me that there were only three made with the U.S. Marshal emblem etched on the blade.

I was just curious if this is true, and I anyone knows where I could research this.
