View Full Version : Idea...Coin Style Cricket?
Had an idea for a knife that Sal might want to use. Not sure if it's good or not but here goes...how about a knife which is similar to the Cricket but shortened in length so that it's a perfect circle when closed. It would be a little bigger than a toonie (Canadian $2 coin which is a bit over an inch in diameter). Slap a clip on it if possible but make it removable maybe for those who want to dump the knife in with their change. And I guess the recurved blade could still hold. I thought of this idea off of a Bladeforums thread asking "how do you carry your Cricket." Would this work? Access to the Spyderhole would be tough. Would it be too stumpy and ugly?

might actually look good. I'm liking this idea...
I would make it slightly larger than the twonie, maybe 1.5" diameter
We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

It sounds good, but (not to kick the idea) with all these darn $1 and $2 coins, it's nice to have a nice knife clipped to an accessible point. The idea of one clipped to the shirt collar, or between the buttons on a golf shirt has merit though.

I'm always looking for "different" knives- this one would fit the bill.
That, and I like it- sounds cool. I'll take a spydercoin, too! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

have spydies will travel
Actually, "Coin" shaped knives have been around for some time (at least 60 years) and have been made with many blade shapes. somme even have two blades.
When we first designed the Cricket, the round shape is where we started and ended up with the oval due to ergos.
