Would it be possible for someone to post a pic of the SS Harpy from the top to see how thick it is? A comparison pic with a Dodo or a Delica or anything , to get a perspective would be great. Also, is it a heavy knife? what would you compare it's weight to? Thanks in advance :)

Axlis, don't have a top view of it on hand, and lighting is not great here at 1am. Will post one later today if nobody else does so first.

It is a hair (half a mm) thicker than the 2.5mm bladed knives like the all stainless Delica, DragonFly and Rookie. It is the same thickness as many of the other 3mm bladed all stainless Spydercos including the Worker, Mariner, Hunter, Standard, Police, Endura, ProGrip, and Calypso Jr.

Don't have a Dodo, but G10 handled knives tend to run a tad thicker as a general rule.

Weight would be very similar to the new Adventura and "feels" very similar to that of the all stainless Calypso Jr and Delica although both of those "scale" a hair heavier.

I find more and more that "heavy" is a relative term. The Poliwog weighs less than the Stretch, yet "feels" heavier in the hand, and not just to me, ran an "experiment" at work one day with half a dozen totally disinterested testers. Same way that a 1lb vial of mercury "weighs" more than a 1lb bag of feathers.

Thanks for responding Deacon. I was hoping it would be somewhat on the thinner side, but if it is comparable to the Calypso Jr., then that is bearable :) . The info is appreciated!

Well Axlis, in addition to the great explanation of The Deacon, here you go.

Hope this helps.

Sorry Axlis, I didn't read your post thoroughly enough. You asked for a comparison. Well, you get a comparison ;)

Here you go...

Sorry for the bad quality of the pic on top. Held the camera too close :o . I hope you "get the picture" though..

I'm not happy about the top picture  . So here's one last attempt(otherwise, this is going to turn into a picture thread :o )

Thanks for the pics Spydutch, you've been a big help! It is thinner than what I thought, which is a good thing. Wow, so the handle is a little smaller than the Rescue Jr.? It does have overall small proportions. Don't be surprised if you see me posting pics of my own, thanks again :)

Aside from the drying vent, the handle is virtually identical to those of the Worker, Hunter and Standard and just slightly different from those of the current stainless Delica and original FRN Delica with the molded clip. It is also very similiar in size to that of the Calypso Jr.

Will say that because the Harpy, like the other older Spydercos I mentioned above, lacks a 50/50 choil, the handle "feels" shorter, at least to me, than the Rescue Jr. and Calypso Jr. where I can "choke up" when the situation warrants doing so.
