Just got a new ATR stainless plain edge this week-- and wow what a knife. I also was fortunate to latch on to the titanium one last year and I kind of hate to use it for everyday as it is turning in to quite a collectable one.
My question is this , on the catalogue site on Spydercos web site , it lists the stainless ATR as being made in Golden Co but the knife is marked Seki Japan on the blade. Is the catalogue incorrect or is this a rare jewel?
It is made so well I surely wont complain but I was sort of excited about getting both models that were made at the mother plant. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks,, Joe

Seki Japan for the stainless one. The discontinued Titanium one was made in Colorado.

The designer of both knives works in Golden, so they could be made anywhere and still cut really well.

Thom may be right. Both the stainless ones I've had in my hands said Seki City Japan on them though.

All Ti were made here in Golden, all SS are made in Seki. Both are beauties.

Thanks all, Taz we do need to change the page in the catalogue on line that says the stainless ATR is made in Golden. That would eliminate confusion.
And yes they are both beauties. Joe

Thanks Taz, now that is service!
I have carried this ATR stainless for a week now and this one is really gonna be a great workhorse for sure. It is a little thinner then the titanium ATR making it feel like I dont have a very big knife in my pocket, but in reality, yep I do.
I havent seen alot of talk lately on this knife, so dont overlook it.
I did have to rig it with one of my "invisible lanyards" for alittle more grip in getting it out of the pocket. Dont mean to tease anyone, I will have to show a picture one day of this new invention,,,, but anyway what a great knife!!

Joe,
Never fear, it won't be forgotten. There are several people here who appreciate the ATR. Personally, I carry mine every day. Usually something (or some days that's plural) keeps it company, but to me my ATR is like AMEX. I never leave home without it. :D It's the only one that I won't share with my husband. Of course, he won't share his Stretch either. :p

I was at the :spyder: outlet store when it was off site a few months back when I was in Denver on buisness..... I ran across the ATR and had to have it... Laid down the $$ and never looked back... Heck of a knife... :p Now I have the TI on my list....

The only bummer for the ATR and me is it is limited to tip up carry. Seems like a cobra hood and tip down were meant to be together.... :(
