I absolutely love my brand new Viele.

I'm considering several other models for my next Spyderco purchase for personal use.

the contendors for next purchase are as follows

Shabaria

Zowada

Lum Tanto

matriarch or civilian though I don't like lock backs

Centofante

vesivious

Each has it's own look and personality.

I know eventually I will have all of them but what one next & why

i unfountually don't own any of the knives listed but i have and love the bob lum chinese folder and i love the look and feel of the lum tanto i would get the titium handled one if it was me. i think a tanto would be handy and i think the fit and finish on the lum is exquisite.

I have a couple tanto blades in my collection. I find them to be great when damn sharp, punch a hole where you want to start and then cut.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

Well out of those I have the Civilian and Matriarch (I dont mind lockbacks, quite like them to be honest).
My favorite style of blade is definately the hawkbills, beutifully made knives.

For collection purposes the Civilian is more flashy with the CF or G10.
For use as Ive said before its a difficult choice.
Civilian has more reach, is more wicked looking and heavier.
Matriarch is lighter, tip-up carry and has a stronger tip, but is just as good even though i doesnt have the same reach.

If you decide on a hawbill and cost is no option Id prollie slide toward the Matriarch for use and the Civie for looks.
Overall Id prollie settle on the Civ.

Good luck
