Right guys, I’m looking to purchase a Harpy next month and would like some advice on handle materials.

I have a Military with G-10 handle for large jobs that require a plain edge, and I have a Delica with SS handle for small jobs that require a plain edge. The Harpy will be for medium to large jobs that would benefit from a serrated edge.

Even though I really like the SS handle on my Delica, I have reservations on how much grip it would provide on bigger / tougher jobs, although I have heard a lot of people on this forum say how much they like the SS handle on the Harpy.

So, is the SS handle on the harpy man enough for the tougher jobs, or would it be worth my time hunting the online stores for a Harpy with a G-10 handle ?

i have a ss handled harpy and use it frequently for heavy cutting tasks and have never had a problem with slippage. if you deside that you would like one with G-10 handles i think www.johnfjensen.com still has some. you will like the harpy either one.

Same here, if you not going to be using it ni wet conditions then go for the one which takes your eye.
They both very good (I have a SS version, it handles everything very well)

I know that I will be buying mine w/ a stainless steel handle, when I get one. Jeff/1911.

If you want a good deal on a Harpy or any other Spyderco knife, try ebay. I bought 2 Harpies there 1 G-10 1 SS. Just got the SS today and it's gorgeous. Don't know about slippage yet with the SS but no worries with the G10
