Just got a CE Ocalot, think I have a PE comeing for Christmas too. :)
This is one of the best knives Spyderco has ever made.I did not know if I would like it as well as the original Wegner design but after getting it I think it is better. The only things that were wrong was the inside of the opening hole was a little unfinnished but a sanding drum and polishing wheel fixed that up nicely.
The other thing was not a concern really for a user but many may complain about the clip.I switched it to tip up just after getting it but the clip left a flat shinny spot on the G10 where it had been.Only way I can think to slove this is not to tighten the clip screws down very tight or to ship it with the clip and screws unattached.
All in all this was well worth the wait. One very classy blade. :spyder:
If you can, I would sure like to see a picture of your Ocalot. It looks like one I would like someday. It looks like a very fine knife.

The issue with the clip seems to be common to all Spyderco G10 handles where the clip can be mounted in more than one location. As you say, shipping them with the clip and screws unattached is probably the only total solution. Then again, G10 seems to get banged up fairly easily in use, compared to micarta and FRN, so the minor "denting" from the clip may not bother too many people. Mine will stay in the display case, the paw prints are cute, but the Stretch, fugly as it is, works much better for me.
Speaking of the Stretch, did you ever get your Bocote scaled one back, and, if so, how do you like it?

Deacon,I got the Stretch back and I like it good enough but I think I woould rather have had micarta or G10 inserts.

Those did turn out nicer than I thought, might have to pick up one. Not as nice as the origonal proto though.
