Enlargeing the Spydie Hole

I was thinking; could it be possible to enlarge the hole on a Chinook to the size of the Military?



I know that there is the heat treat issue. However, if one goes slowly and carefully, using a water cooling drill??



Could this be done without ruining the knife?

Hi dePaul. Enlarging a hole on a heat treated blade is a both difficult and somewhat dangerous operation. I believe the Chinook and the Mil both have 14mm holes.

Hm, sorry Sal for the confusion. It somewhat feels like the hole on the Military is slightly larger, don´t know why.. So I wrongfully assumed that it was the case.

As to the question. My interpretation is that it is possible but one has to be really extremly careful? <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>
