Help! My Military isn't working properly!

Hi. When I put downward pressure on the blade of my locked Military, I feel movement of the blade back and forth. The liner begins to slide to the left. The knife hasn't folded on me yet though. I hope that this isn't normal. What should I do?

I think I'd call the warranty/repair folks in Golden, to see if you should send it in, or not.

I'm curious as to why you're exerting pressure on the blade spine. I mean I understand a spine whack or two to check out the lock, but knives are designed to put pressure on the edge of the blade, not the spine. It might be that another tool would prove better at whatever it is you're trying to do than a knife.

I would definitely call the factory and explain what exactly causes the liner to flex.

If the knife is being used just as a knife, and the liner flexes, we have a problem. However, if you are using the knife in a particularly harsh fashion or a way it is not intended, then I would suggest a strong fixed blade.

Fixed blades tend to hold my favor as knives for extremely hard use as there is no lock to fail.
