Hey Folks,

I just tried the digital camera from work and took a few average quality pictures (had some problems w/ glare) but thought I'd post them on my MSN space.

Have a look if you please. All are Spydies except one.

Nice pics, Jeff, of a nice collection. Thanks for posting the link. You, I believe, are the first person I recall posting a URL to MS photos that has worked.

I'm intrigued by the oversize pivots on the two micarta Calypsos. So many Spydies have such seemingly small pivots, that the one on the Calypso Jr looks positively huge. Does anyone know why those knives have such unusually large pivots, compared to most other Spydies?

Stare/Samo,

Thanks for the positive feedback. I hope to learn to take better pictures than these of knives as time goes on, as this was my first crack at it. I'm glad you think these photo's are of reasonable quality.

Stare, I agree that the Micarta Calypso's appear to have unusually large pivot pins. I figure it's something to do w/ the use of micarta...perhaps this is so that the stress of the pivot area can be spread over a larger area of the scale material for an increase in strength. This is just a guess.

Samo, I hadn't realized until now that more than half of my collection so far is made up of serrated blades. Huh. I certainly do like them, although I find the PE models more versatile. Soon, a plain edged stainless Police model will join it's serrated brother there.

Thanks again for your comments, Jeff/1911.

BTW would you recommend the MSN album site? I use Image Station, very similar to MSN.

dePaul,

I have just begun to use the MSN Explorer browser and it comes with 20 megabytes of webspace so I thought I'd give picture posting a try. It's all free, so what the heck. So far, so good.

Thank you for the kind words. Jeff/1911.
