Pretty funny considering the system is brand new, and has LOTS of bugs that need to be worked out.

Hmm...spend $1000, get it now, and have it work substandardly.

Or...
Wait til January, get it for $300, and have it work as intended.

Easy choice for me ;)

My girlfriend's son stayed out all night to get one. I tried to get him to sell it on Ebay and get one in January plus have cash for games. Any guesses on what he did?

What ever happened to shipping a console with two controllers and one decent game instead of one controller and no game?

Hey, I did the same thing at Toys R Us when the first one hit the street. Waited several hours to get a rain check on 1 of 5 to be sold @ $179 only to give the ticket away to a woman who was hysterical because her son wouldn't have a X-Box for Christmas. Now that's crazy.

The last console I remember getting two controlers with was Nintendo, not only that but iut came with the gun and the mario/duck hunt game.

I cant really comment as I have drove hundreads of miles to get a single firearm.

also have paid a outrageous amount for a single coin that meant a lot to me.

heck I drive 2 hours just to buy a spyderco.

I have sold a single shot stevens 22lr to a collector for a huge chunk of change...

everyone is different and
to each his own.

on the comment on the game controllers, some people prolly think we are crazy for paying this much for a knife with ONE blade ;)

From the point of view of someone who is absesed with video games and knives, and a insite for you quys. The all so great x-box 360 came in two version the core version and the platinum package. Now with the these consoles like the playstation 2 you were able to play the playstation one games as well as dvd :D .

Now with the x-box 360 core package people are only able to play x-box 360 games on it and I believe it cost $400 out of the stores brand new. And the platinum pack $500 but you can play the original x-box games and the 360 game. Don't quote me on the prices because I am going of the top of my head last time I saw the ads for the dumb things.

Now for paying $1000 :eek: for one off of e-bay. That is going to be the hardcore gamers who have to have the best system right now to imprese their friends, now thats crazy. The way I see it don't wait till January. Wait until June after the bugs been worked out and the price will drop $100 or $200.

The core system costs $299, and the platinum pack will run you $399. As far as backward compatibility, it's only with a few games produced by Microsoft, and even then, I've heard of issues with it. I personally believe this has been one of the most over-hyped console releases in gaming history. Right up there with the Jaguar. I think the launch games have to be some of the worst ever. I don't mean that they're all bad games, just that they're all so....average. Where's that game that's going to make me want to jump up and go buy an Xbox 360, because I sure haven't seen anything that makes it worth the money yet.

I agree with Chris. Granted yes I said I was obsessed with games, but there really has not been a game that makes me jump for joy to go buy. Most people who see how many game I have may call me a Hypocrite, but most the games I buy are greatest hits which mean they only cost my $20 and the consoles I buy six months or a year after they're released. Even then I usually buy them at Costso or Sam's club, because you get two controllers and two games with the console for less.

It is crazy but what a very cool think you did for that woman.
I got my xbox a while after it came out and it acually came with three games.. but still only one controller.

There's the list of games that are supposed to be backwards compatible. However, one has to own the platinum edition with the hard drive, and download an emulation file from the Xbox website, or Xbox Live.

Well of course it is over hyped and with lack luster games...that wasn't their purpose. Their purpose was to have a platform to better support the monthly fee that Jr. will want mommy to pay so he can fight other Jrs. in another state.
