Hello,
Here some photographs of my Police which I have to buy in 1995.
I think that it's a C07SATU (aluminum tufram handle).

Somebody have infos on G2 stainless to compare VG10 or S30V?
Thanks,
Nico

Does your Police model have a Titanium handle? It sure looks like that's one of the Ti models. The G-2 stainless would be about consistent with that time period. Pmel would know because he is probably our "in house" Police expert. I think Deacon has a pretty good line on the POLICE model as well. It sure don't look like stainless to me.
Now here's where I am ignorant and I admit I am on Pre 1995 Spyders. Didn't they have a Police model with an aluminum handle?

Very nice photos Nicolas, of a great looking Police!
JD, I believe the pins on the Titanium handled Police are visible, but flush, and the blade was ATS-34. The original, uncoated aluminum Police also had flush pins, but with a G-2 blade. The almite coated ones look like Nicolas', with raised pins, but there appear to have been two batches, both in G-2, one with the POLICE marking on the blade, and one without it.
Am sure Phil and Dave will add to and/or correct this.
Edited to add: For what it's worth, I think Paolo Masetti's website (http://spyderco.massetti.it/) is the best currently available photographic reference for Police models. Perhaps if we have all chip in and buy Phil a digital camera, we'd get to see all those Police that have retired to Kiwiland. :D

Deacon is correct, the model pictured is the Tuffram coated aluminum Police Model CO7SATU. I have the identical model given to me by Sal in July 1994 when they were first introduced. Nicolas' model also has the lanyard hole making it a bit more rare in regards to other metal handled police versions.
The titanium handle Police did have visable, flush pins and was only available in full serrated and combo edge ATS34.

Nicolas, that's a nice one! Ten years old and looks like new :)

Yup, that's the same info I've got. For comparison a shot of my Ti-Police:

Hi Guys
Yep, two blade types, one marked as the one in the picture is POLICE and the other "sterile". Doesn't seem to be any other differences, but as I have had one arrive over Christmas I will be looking very losely at them. Also recieved an older Police , handle like a P.I.G,chunky and slab sided, but with a blade marked POLICE MODEL. Condition is quite poor, badly ground blade and stripped clip screws, will send it up to Spyderco for a refurbish. Anyone know when they are back on deck??

Thank you has all for your precise comments!!!
I found that G2 and GIN 1 are in fact same steel.
For comparison, see the stell chart in the last catalog.

Looks like my semi-retired Tuffram Police, without the scars. ;)

Hi Guys as far as the Alumite versions are concerned, the model with the sterile blade has no lanyard hole, only the version with POLICE on the blade has this hole, as the excellent photos show. BTW the nasty worn early police that I mentioned in the previous post is a Leftie, just noticed!!!!

Great pictures. It's nice to see the name of the knife so well engraved on the blade. I think the Military knife once had this good looking engraving.
