Hello everybody,
Sal just posted that there are very few ppl designing our beloved knives. We are all drawn to the Spyderco line very much . Maybe we need to design a Byrd now.
Byrds of a feather flock together.
What do we want in the uber affordable Byrd line that is not there???

From what it has sounded like in the past, there are many byrds currently in flight. Black Cara Cara and Meadowlark, as well as the Robin and Finch, and there has been mention of FRN and G-10 for handle material.
One thing that I haven't seen or heard of in the byrd line is a Warncliff (sp?) blade.

What is the difference between a warncliff and a pelican blade?

A thin spear point or tanto blade. Call it the Woodpecker ;)
A rainbow anodized handle. Call it the Peacock ;)
In all seriousness, the Byrd has encompassed a good amount of possible blade shapes, and the only one I see the line lacking is a trailing point or clip point design.
I have my doubts as to what form of bird possesses any piece of anatomy shaped that way, but I did note it's abscence from the Byrd line.

My 2cents...the warnie has a triangular shape while the pelican is a sheepsfoot shape..

Aloha Dodge,
I say something like this the size of a Cricket or Dragonfly...Call it the Majeeto. It's a small green bird found here, so that would mean Green scales of course. :p
This is the decked out version done by my Knifebrother Alex. Bone scales, Damascus blade and bolsters. However...
byrd version simply green aluminum like the Lum Chinese would be cool.
God bless ;)
Thanks for the great rendition Alex!

Chad: Finally a left handed design :p
I wouldn't mind a 4-5" stilletto, call it the Sandpiper. Double ground, single edged(keep it legal down there), SS handle.

I'll second Ghostrider. In particular, a 3"+ wharncliffe front lock would be great, and even nicer if it was flat ground.
