I traded a buckmaster and a gerber coffin-handled bowie for a Spyderco Endura RS1010. This piece is almost 10 years old and the most awesome spydie I've ever owned! Whatabout yours? Which one will you guard jealously?

I have several that I guard jealously and hardly ever use:
Pearl handle Spyderkey
Probe
Pre Diver
Jess Horn custom
Herbst
P.I.G. Police left hand model
Hummingbirds stag and pearl (wear them to church on my tie on occasion)
Titanium Police partially serrated
Plain edge Civie
Black Blade Military
Black Ti. Worker
Black Ti Endura
Black Ti Delica
Black Ti Magnum Research Police
Evolution Set (2 Workers one plain edge one serrated Damascus)
SS Spyderkey (used it til Sal told me they were scarce)
2 old model plain edge Workers both w/same serial #
3 Centofantes (Green, Blue, Grey)
2 Bob Terzoulas (large and small w/alum. handle)
Orange handle Snap it w/ Rescue Blade (got it from the Late Great James Mattis RIP)
I think that is all. The others that I use I love also but not as much as these! I am sure I will remember some others as the day goes by.

As an avid and often rabid spyderco collector I think the prize in my collection has to be the Evolution Set, serial # 2. This one is not carried, but is displayed proudly.

I guard them all, but I like the older models mostly, so I guess my "most" guarded one right now would be a plain blade green handled Delica.(Thanks NCBlades)

RDaneel, that is a knife to treasure. I have a plain edge aluminium Cricket that I bought from James only a few weeks ago. I'm thinking of having James' chai engraved on the scale in his memory, should show up nicely on the grey finish.

My most jealously guarded Spydie is the Moki Evrina with the Linda Karst tiger scrimshaw. OK so it doesn't have a hole but it's the most beautiful knife I own.

Samo,
No need for numbers. I'll just stand in line for a regular run. I do like my 3" blades (give or take), just the right size.

Haven't been yet, Sam. I've just spent a few days up north with the inlaws, but don't leave for the mountains till Saturday. Just trying to decide which knives to take . At the moment it looks like a Leatherman Crunch in the emergency ski repair kit, a SAK Rucksack for backcountry survival (gotta love the saw) and a micarta Calypso Jr for nights sitting around the fire in the lodge. No, maybe that should be a grey Centofante Jr. Then the Military has to fit in somewhere, dammit I might as well just pack the whole roll .

Samo, never seen snow!!!!

Clay, What kind of skiing weather you have there? Alpine or cross-country? Because you need an emergency ski repair tools I assume that you are doing alpine or telemark skiining. am I right?

sam the man..
09-21-2000, 04:30 AM
Yeah Tommi, I've never seen snow in my entire life, but I guess there'll be a first time for everything. The closest ever, was cleaning up frost in the cold room. In Malaysia, the temperature is wet and humid all year long (27-32C) - That's why I guard some of my spydies jealously!

G'day Tommi,

I'm a free heel fanatic. We're staying in a resort called Charlotte's Pass which is the highest village in Australia and gives good access to the main Kosciuszko range. The mountains are so old and eroded (read small) that it's possible to ski from peak to peak. I'll be doing some back country touring and looking for some nice untouched spring corn to carve up with some teles .

Tellut rulaa(slang) = Telemak skiing rules.

I've done it(telemark skiing of course) only tree years but in deep snow I ski better with telemark skis than with slalom skis despite of about 20 year experience with those regulars. (first I learnet to ski cross-country)

Telemark skiing with spyderco puukko. I want to do that!

Guys - If a SpydePuuko were ever made - Would it be a piece that you'll guard jealously?
I think it'll be great for the folks at Spyderco to produce a limited run for this particular blade in honour of Jim Mattis.
