Apparently I'm an authority figure

:p We had another group project in class, but before we got seperated into groups, the class was asked who are the leaders and why. I'm one of 2 easy ones, the 3rd was a forced choice.

Reasoning for me? I carry myself well, have no problem talking to superiors as equals[I'm always talking easily with the instructors], speak my mind[at least when my opinion comes out I'm right or I don't say anything at all], and a few of them are scared of me. Self confidence and guts go a long way. ;)

Nothing like being in a group[started with 25, down to 16 now] of guys 18-60, from all different backgrounds and being in control with them barely knowing each other(4 months stuck together with no-one wanting to give up the alpha role the first month or so). Real funny thing is that of the guys that are scared of me, most of those ppl outweigh me by about 50lbs, and one guy has closer to 75lbs on me.
The other guys chosen as leaders were the 60yr old(experience, ex-military, business knowledge, psych major from '82) and 40yr old(english major from '95, 3 additional courses since then).

Was a hell of a surprise to me today, but felt damn good. Me... at all of 180lbs, out of shape and sleep deprived on a good day... having a bearing on how the masses think.

Good for you bro...like my job, being present and having presence are two different things. You obviously have the latter. ;) And you're just a baby!!! ;) :)

The heavy guy tried pushing his weight around the first week, but it's a little hard to bluff someone when they can pick you up and throw you around. He's scared sh|tless of me, I only threatened to toss him down the stairs head first if he swung at me :rolleyes: :D.

I may not like ppl, but I don't have to hide it either. Either they like me or they don't, I'm not being false just to placate the masses. If they fear me enough to respect me, all the better... less work for me.

You want real fun, to see how much presence you have? Normally, you can hear me coming down the hall LONG before you see me, nice bang with combats on. On the same note, I can walk quieter than the rest of them in runners. Walk up to someone thats got thier back turned to you and wait till they turn around and see you. Watch the look on thier face when they register who it is and how fast they jump. :eek: :D :p
