View Full Version : Unchamfered handles- Am I the only one that likes them?

I prefer the unchamfered scales on the older models and the Jess Horn Micarta. I have a titanium Police(chamfered) and it feels less solid than my old unchamfered Hunter.

I asked Spyderco if unchamfered could be an option but they said "sorry".

Anybody with me on this or is everyone too young to remember the way it was when Spyderco started up? I remember reading one article reviewing a Spyderco and the guy said he'd like to see the handles a little more rounded(wimpy) and then bam! All the handles got chamfered.

I'm sure it was more complicated than that but, if you get a chance to compare the two you'll find a much more solid, controllable, defined, and hefty grip with the non-chamfered scales- especially with the flat design nature of these knives.

Sorry, but unchamfered handles are on my list of reasons NOT to buy a particular knife.

Hi Zeus. Welcome to the Spyderco forum. You're showing your age.

There are some that preferred the older non chamferred handles for the very reason that you mentioned, but most preferred the "softer" chamferred handles and the less weight.
