Hi all...
What's the difference b/n the pacific and atlantic salt... other than the blade shape. Are they both the same type of steel???????
Thanks -Coop

Both are H1 steel. Apart from the blade shape, there are no other differences.
Go to Spydercos website and check thier online catalogue for sizes and weights, etc.. http://spyderco.com/catalog/list.php?blade=H-1

I like the blade shape of the Pacific over the Atlantic but I like the Atlantic handle far better than the Pacific. I've been toying with the idea of rebuilding a new Pacific body using a tracing of the type handle found on the Rescues and the Atlantic with the index choil. Of course the new body for the Pacific blade would be in titanium much like my new ZDP189 CJ upgrades I've recently posted.

Looking at the catalogs I have, and the on line catalog, I'd say they are different. The Atlantic has more of a Rescue type handle with the 50/50 chiol. while the Pacific looks like the Endura handle.
Welcome to the forum. :)

Now I'm a bit luckier, I prefer both the blade and the handle shape of the Atlantic.
The Endura/Pacific/Spyderhawk handle has never felt "right" in my hand. The feel of the Rescue has just gotten better and better, with the lastest version of it, shared by the Atlantic and C14, being the best yet for me.
I guess that, like many other things related to how knives feel, has a lot to do with the size and shape of one's hands. I do think the idea of upgrading the handle material sounds great.

My vote if for the Atlantic. The Pacific is too pointed for me.
