Hi guys.

Now that I have my SS Rookie PE, I was wondering if anyone knew how many variations there might be of the Rookie. Having aksed the Deacon(thanks :) ), he suggested I ask the question on the Forum to get any other answers. From what I understand, the Rookie came in SS in SE and PE and in G10 in the same configurations plus CE. Anybody know of any others? Also, what does single lined G10 mean? Thanks guys.

Hi flipe8, the earliest G-10 knives that Spyderco made, including the original versions of the BlackHawk and Renegade, and the first issue of G-10 Police, among others, were unlined. No metal under the G-10 on either side. Folks soon started complaining about clip screws stripping out. Not terribly surprising, since the threads are very small and G-10 is made with a fairly brittle polymer resin. So, to solve the problem a single liner was added on the clip side. Of course that meant it was "sucks to be a lefty week". Same thing was done with the front lock Carbon Fiber models, except some of those did have a LH version. Newer G-10 front locks, like the Manix, have dual liners and are drilled for ambi carry.
