That Jess Horn is nice!

Funny that the pic "Prototype" of the VG-10 Copilot shows 'G2 STAINLESS' :p :D

This is fantastic news! (Well, it would be better news if serrated Horns would be included but I'll take good news where I can find it.)

My question is this: Will these clip screws tap directly into the FRN like the previous Horns or will there be a steel insert like the caly juniors? Also, I don't see a Boye dent on either knife. Oh, one more question. Are these the only two sprints planned for '06?

Thanks Kristi it's a nice surprise (especially Jess Horn) :p

But please, remember the "other side of the world", the great part here don't use " or oz, we use mm or g :D

Could you consider these also in your sprint run sheet in future - please

The Jess Horn is an unexpected and welcome surprise. Nice job keeping it secret :D

I'm just curious who's been asking for it? With all the requests for sprint runs in ZDP, I don't recall seeing one for the Jess Horn since I've been on the forum (and we we all know, if it's not here, it doesn't exist :D).

My goodness, someone could have won big money before today betting me there would ever be Sprint Run of the C38! Very pleasant surprise, but definitely a total surprise.

I am THRILLED to see an opportunity to finally have my first ZDP blade! But how in the world do I get my grubby mitts on one???

On a separate note: I remember this "casual bombshell" being dropped by sal in a Native thread not long ago...

"We are currently working on a "Sprint" run of gray FRN Natives with CPM-S125V blade."

http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19116

Will there be more than one sprint run this year???

Hey Jeff, if last year is an indicator there were several Sprint runs, most pre-announced, some a surprise (like the CF Military)...nothing set in stone. :spyder:

We have other possibilities in the mix, but we're not quite ready to announce them in a flier yet.

TazKristi,

This is wonderful news. One of my favorite Spydies in ZDP-189. Will this be a forum knife or, if not, will there be a sign-up list on this website for us all to pre-order?

Chris :) :) :)

This is VERY good to hear, and thanks for the prompt response. But how does this work? Is there a waiting list? Will they be on the website? Is it forum members only?

Sprint Runs are sold through all the normal channels. The only difference between a Sprint Run model and any other model is that there is a limited quantity produced and then it becomes obsolete (meaning we don't make any more like it). Many Dealers do take pre-orders. It varies though as to who that will be. What I can say, is use caution. Place your pre-order with a trusted Dealer with whom you have done business with before. Unfortunately there are many Dealers (not to single them out, but most frequently seen on E-Bay) who take pre-orders but don't actually purchase directly through Spyderco. They often don't have the most current info. So, keep watching the forums, look for announcements from us that items are shipping. I think it's fair to say, we've gotten better at that.

As to the next forum knife... we just finished up the '05 knife not too long ago, it'll be a while before we're ready to look at possibilities for '06.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the update Kristi, you are always so helpful :)

You know, I might as well sign my bank acount over to Spyderco, and just get it over with

Good advice on the preorder thing...pretty sure my preorder for a CF PE Harpy, CF SE Harpy and CF Military are not going to be shipped by one online dealer I ordered from.

This helps IMMENSELY! Unfortunately, a lot of knife dealers around me are going belly-up, and the only ones left are an hour away and charge an arm and a leg. At one time, though, I worked for a "sporting goods store" and was able to get a screamin' deal on :spyder: and other stuff, but that particular chain is one that I refuse to pour any more money into for reasons of principle. But I will not bring my grudge to the forums, tempting as it is...

Has any INDIVIDUAL ever ordered a sprint knife directly from Spyderco? I have no problem whatsoever with paying full retail when I find something that is really THAT worth while, and :spyder: IS as you said "a trusted Dealer with whom [I] have done business with before." This also coming from a person who is not usually a big fan of buying stuff online. (Spyderco is one of only 2 companies who are so trusted at this keyboard)

I hope that this does not seem like an overbombardment of questions, but better to have asked than to fret over not knowing.

HI Jeff,

I haven't ordered any sprints from SFO, but have ordered quite a few other knives from them. They provide great service and free shipping...every once in a while they throw in a free spyder toy... :p

When I ordered my dodos, they sent a delica 3 frn se... Had been trying to get my boss to see the light for a long while, and that was the perfect opportunity. He now uses it every day and guards it as if it were his first born :D

And he wants a few more now. The Poliwog, Para, and Manix80 are in his sights at the moment...
YOU HEAR THAT, SHIPPING DEPARTMENT? THANK YOU! You helped make a new :spyder: addict! Keep up the good work!

TazKristi, thanks for the guidance as well as the unveiling of this excellent blade. This will surely be a best-seller even for a sprint run.

Wow, I am blown away. What a knife!!!
