Aloha TKC!
What? No pricey customs today? :D
That D'Allara drop has me *wanting*, and I am curious about these "improved" C11's...keep us posted as they arrive!

Far out TKC!! Both are awesome knives. I have been carrying the D4 all day at work and the D'Allara DP the rest of the time. The D'Allara just feels so good in your hand! I love both of them. Here are a couple of pictures to make the wait just a little bit harder(longer) :D :D.

I really like D4 a lot. But cannot make up my mind for which version to go for. I like CE due tot he fact that it has both edges to work with.
But I am not sure in reality, PE or CE would be more practical. Has anyone have experience using both versions?
For emergency, where the raw cutting power is the issue, no doubt, SE is the best option. And for the kitchen and other utility work, I believe the PE is more useful.
If I use that for camping and hiking, which one is more use? Should I go for PE or CE.

Camping? Definitely CE, you're eventually gonna run across a scenario where you'll want that section of SE for heavy cutting. Just my opinion though.

With the CE, do you have difficulties in using them? I mean, theoratically, it is good. I have not use the CE efge before. I just have either PE or CE. Each one of them have their own use.
But combining them into one, would that make the knife less useful in such short blade? When you need to cook, then the knife in CE has less of PE to do the proper work. and when you want to cut harsh thing, then the SE is only 1 inch, so you end up not so efficient in cutting anyway.
This is just my thought. But I really need the real experience from someone handling the CE. I might be wrong in the sense, it is just my curiorcity.

Sounds like what you really need for the camping/hiking is an Endura CE instead of the Delica CE. That way you’ll have two inches of each PE and SE to do the work. I myself have used smaller blades in CE and felt that they presented the same problem you refer too. However, it truly is a personal choice. What works for me may not work for you or somebody else.

Hey surawut, hard for anyone else to tell you if the the shorter portion of the PE would be long enough to help you in your cooking chores. Maybe tape up the portion of the blade that would be SE and use the remaining PE to food prep...if it works or not you will know if the CE can work for you to cook.

ha ha.. Thanks for the idea.... :)
But I think the small portion of the SE would still be able to work with little annoyance. I think I will go for the CE. I do not have any of the knife in CE yet. I think it would be nice to give it a try anyway.

Congrats on the new incoming additions. You made some good choices there. I have the D'Allara and, it is a knife that you will find yourself operating over, and over. It appears to have a particularly well designed action providing easy one handed operation and, butter smooth throughout. You're gonna like it.
