I just checked the REI web site. The only thing that came up on "REI Knife" was some plastic eating utensils.

Did search for knives, got 152 hits, including saws and assorted other things. Didn't see any REI knife amongst the Spydercos. Maybe didn't look carefully enough.

You've got me real curious. My guess would be that it would be an Endura or Delica, off the top. But there are so many great patterns from which to choose, it is hard to say what an outfit like REI would choose for their own name.

Can you provide the statistics/facts about the knife? Better yet, a picture? An idea on the price paid/asked? Might enable much more effective guessing.

Maybe some forumite simply knows the answer.

The REI knife is a Q with the REI logo instead of the Spyder in the cut-out. It's a discontinued model.

The Q was model number C35 and had a spyder etched out in the blade by laser.
If you ordered a certain number (500 I believe) you could design your own blade pattern and Spyderco would make them up for you. Many companies and organizations used them for promotions and for awards or rewards. There were no separate model numbers for each variation that I know of.

Picture 2 is the best pic I have of the original "bug" version.

Picture 1 is of another forumite's collection, I can't remember his name.

Is your REI knife in there?
