View Full Version : Surefire L4 (pics) It's Rocks Fault!!...
And everyone else here who have been talking about nice torches lately. I saw where a local store (Sportsman's Warehouse) had a 10% off everything in the store sale going on for a couple of days. I thought that I would NEVER spend this much for a flashlight, but ( ), I did. I emailed Rock and asked a few questions and he helped me out. I picked up the L4. I also want the KL1 Lamp assembly down the road, but it was more cost effective to ket the L4 at this point with the KL4 lamp assembly and get the KL1 later. WOW, what a light!! It certainly is more of a flood light, but has pretty descent throw also. So much light for such a small package.
Here are a few pics.

It's all Irish Lager's fault :p :D .
Congrats Ron, and thanks for the pics. You guys are playing out of my league. I like finding the cheap ones.

That's it, I'm not opening these flashlight threads any more, my willpower is only so strong... ;)

Hahah, what is willpower? Just look for a second job, or start putting in some OT.. :p If only it was that wasy. :)
That is odd Rock. What is on the other two flats on your light? I looked at several pictures over at CPF and also at Flashlight Reviews and they looked like mine. I wonder if mine is older stock?
At any rate, they are great lights. Scott, you will not be dissapointed at all.

The other flat side is blank. Basically they took both your sides and smashed them on one.

Hey Ront, good pictures and I have the utmost faith in surefire products! Enjoy!
After a little investigation Rock, I am pretty sure that your L4 is a newer model than mine. I would post a link, but I am not sure if I should, that shows that shows both and says that yours is the newer one. I think the insides are the same though.

Why don't you post the link.. Or PM me it, if you can't for other reasons. I'm curious.

Ya know, as much as I like the L4, I am starting to wonder if I should have gotten the L5 instead. Read the review at the same website. The L4 still has pretty good flood, but has alot more throw.

The L4 is very very nice though.

As an owner of at least 14 Surefires (G2 Black, G2 Tan, GZ2, Z2, Z3, C2, E2e, E2d, E1e, L1, L2, M2, M3, M3T) I can tell you they are almost (and in somecases) more fun than knives. The downside, if you use them, you have to buy batteries. The upside, you can use them and never have to sharpen them!
I am about ready to give the Blackhawk Gladius a try... :D
markg, have you ever had a chance to compare the L4 and L5. I am wondering about runtime and beam between the two. You have quite a collection!!
Thanks, Ron

I have not had a chance to handle either of them.
I got my L2 last July, and it is in need of its first battery change now, and it is the most used of my lights. I have gotten good battery life from both my Surefire LED's. I rotate lights alot, however, so your mileage may vary.
The most "light saber" like beam of any of my lights comed from my C2. It is like a light scapel! Now of course the M3T is nice if you want to light things up far away. I kid you not, I think I could bake under it. I got the 225 lumen bulb in it.
I would not mind a M4 or M6. I have some situations on the property I live on where shining light out to a 1/4 of mile is needed. You need the "turbo heads" to do that.
