Hi all,
I'm looking to add a Carbon Fiber Civilian to my slowly growing collection and I had a couple of questions.
I did a pretty extensive search on the forum and answered most of my questions but...
From what I understand, there were 1200 CF Civilians made, half serrated and half plain with about 10% of each being left handed models. Is that information correct?
I'm assuming then that Right hand VS Left hand is more important then edge type in terms of collector value?
Also, does anyone have an approximate value that one of these would bring on ebay? Obviously you guys don't know exactly what they would bring but I was curious if I'm looking in the $200 range or more the $400 to $500 range?
Thanks in advance for the answers. =)

I would say it's in the $200 - $250 range, maybe a little less than $200 if you're lucky. I can't answer your # question, but I thought the PE's were more rare than the SE's. I really have no idea, but it seems that the PE's are harder to find.

Well, the SE has been the more expensive, lately, but 200-300$ should be possible to get one for, with a little luck.
I'm sorry I can't help you with the numbers.

I have the plain edged, Carbon Fiber Civilian. The biggest problem I have with it is that it is so cool looking that I constantly want to carry and use it. I do know better than to give in because of it's value continuing to escalate upwards. I also have a G-10 Serrated one too.
But the plain edged version of that knife has a draw to it that is terribly hard to resist. If I ever encounter a used one I will sure go for it but I am sure my chances of finding a discount Rolex watch will be much better. I don't know for sure how many plain edged versions that they made the CF Civilian in but I have been told by a collector here on this Forum that there are more plain edged Carbon Fiber Civis by far than there is G-10 plaine edged versions.
Don't ask me why they made so few of the plain edged Civilians because just like the plain edged Harpy I know that they would be highly sought after. Plain edged Hawkbills truly have a magnetic draw>> But does anyone really know why  > Where is Doctor Lecter when we really need him

Trying to pick my brain here... not the best luck for you guys after the last 2hrs of class...
The PE version was done as a request of the film industry and caught on. As with most designs, the PE go quickly, leaving SE out in the market. Time goes on and they all become more rare.
You want a tough job, try being a leftie :p... I managed to locate a CF PE LH Civvie on here for a great price, just waiting for my first paycheck when I get work out of this course. You don't wanna KNOW how long I've been drooling over that model and searching.
