should this be happening?

I just received some new spydies today. I got a santoku, spydercard and ss dragonfly.

The spydercard has to very small cracks in the handle where the thumb ramp area of the blade comes in contact with the handle. The cracks themselves are in the handle. Is this ok or normal? Should I send it back? I bought it from bestknives, would I send it to them or spyderco? Thanks, Brian

marauder2002 -- I think I'd be on the horn to Best Knives ASAP. Presumably they can get reimbursed by going backwards up their supply channel. You paid for a brand new knife, and didn't receive an adequate specimen. I think at this stage, it falls on the vendor.

Hi Marauder. Those 2 very small cracks are normal. They occur in the bend of the handle. The handle has to be heat treated to make the lock work and this is done prior to bending.
