Guys, I just got my 'lil wrench and its the most AWESOME pocket tool I've ever came across! For its price and features, this tool felt just right. Just a note on the locking mechanism on the handle - I think this can be improved to reduce free-play. It goes "clickety-clack" which sounded a bit annoying! But hey! I must applaud the genious who designed it because the Spydewrench ROCKS!

Hey Samo ,
I just got my supertool last week and have put it through the paces everyday.I gotta admit it's tricky at first but I'll never leave home without it (spydie express)Although the blade isn't designed for heavy duty use (enter the 204)as I've discovered it will never be matched by any other company.
(like anyone ever could)
You're going to enjoy this one for mere functionality.Let alone being one of the coolest looking tools I've ever had the chance to own.I gave my inferior one away the next day.Now the only improvemnt I could ask for would be a bigger version for heavy duty use. That way I could buy another one!!!

Dude -- I got the Spydewrench on my horizontal-mounted tripleaught sheath and a military in my pocket -- daily carry and would never leave home without it...
Ummm, speaking about improvements, I can surely look forward to an upgraded "SUPER SPYDEWRENCH!"

I bought my wrench as soon as it was available, It is really a SOLID product (along with all my other spyder's).
The only Question/improvement I have, does any one else have problems with the file/lock slideing in properly??

You have to have the flat side of the file facing in toward the bits.

and the phillips head facing away from the pliers end.
I love my SpydeRench, but using it takes two hands. Spyderco knives are all designed for one hand operation, one hand to retreve and open the knife, the other free to hold what you are prepairing to cut.
The other day I needed a phillips screwdriver. It took a long time, and two hands to open and assemble the wrench. I had to put the piece I was repairing down and fumble with a lot of small parts on the SpydeRench being careful not to drop one. It takes a lot longer to use than my Leatherman.

John, a warm welcome to you from the Spyderco forum Dude! I carry the Spydewrench almost everyday. I guess with the user-feedback and plenty of comments on how to improve the wrench, we'll see something as Spyderco progresses. Also check out the Jan 01 issue of Tactical Knives. There is a great article about the Spydewrench which discusses about his spydie from the drawing board to the production line. I find the wrench as the overall most useful implement in this awesome tool!

There are things that each tool does well, and others that they don't. The Spyderench's strength is in the full head (as opposed to needle nose) pliers and in the adjustable wrench. It's a much better tool than most multis when there are a number of nuts and bolts that need to be turned, rather than just a quick splinter to pick, or screw to tighten. I don't use it as often as my Wave, but when I do need it, I'm very glad it's there.

Hello Brian! I never doubted a single moment when it comes to nuts and bolts! This is the job for the Spydewrench!

I am also pretty happy with it although it looked quit flimsy at first. But after a couple of weeks and different uses I realize it is really good. And now I carry it daily along with my Starmate.
