Why do not make each knives with each handle material:Zytel,G10,Stainless,and perhaps aluminum it is an attractive idea(personnally i will choose Stainless or G10)
I would know if spyderco made some knives With this steelwhich is named Hitachi shirogami HRC rockwell:63-64.
thanx for answers!
Hi Caleb. It would be quite expensive to try to make each knife out of each handle material. The dealers don't like to carry so many different variations of the same model and the invenetory would be difficult to maintain.
Hitachi's Shirogami is a Japanese made powdered metal. It is too expensive to do in production. They also require that you use a particular heat treater in Japan.

Hi Sal thanx for your quality explanations i agree what you say and understand the many problems to make and distribute a consistent number knives. Is the terms and conditions are similar at golden than Seki city or others.Thanx again for your help and your advices.
Hi Sal.
I had the fealing that it would be difficult to set the machinery up for each handle type, i.e. FRN AFAIK is poured in a mould, and G-10 and SS machined.
If it was just a matter of costs how about making some knives with different handle material to order. I know I would pay extra to get a Delica and Calypso Jnr with G-10 handles.
