I was wondering if my 4.5 year old daughter should watch it. :confused: She really wants to, but it looks a little scary for a girl under 5. Any thoughts???

I guess I should just watch it first. The promo's had a lot of frightening scenes, but that doesn't mean it's really scary.

We will not be watching it until this week end so I can't offer any help BlackNinja. Sorry. The scenes that I have seen do seem a bit intence though for the younger ones.

My 8 year-old niece went to see it with her school,and a few of the kids were very frightened.I think you have the right idea by watching it first and deciding what's appropriate for your little girl.You know her best.

Well, we watched it last night. WOW, it is the best movie I have seen in a long time. I enjoyed it very much!!
BlackNinja, good call on wondering if could frighten you daughter. I can see how it could be a bit frightening to some of the younger kids.
Might watch it again today.

I've read 2 of the books and seen the movie. It's very good. I recommend it to those who haven't seen it.

I wouldn't be worried about kids watching it. It is not the worst movie out there and except for the witch-killing-lion-scene should be fairly ok. It is I think the best movie in a long time and very well worth watching.

Well it does contain lots of fantasy creatures including Minotaurs, and Centaurs which may or may not frighten kids depending on their outlook.

It does have a full fledged battle scene so that might be scary for a 5 year old. As it is Disney, there is no blood or chopped off arms and legs, but it does make it clear that said sword did kill said centaur...etc. etc... :eek: :cool:

Sounds too scary for even me to watch let alone a 5 year old....there's enough scary things in real life, and plenty of time for a young one to get in touch with them...call me old fashion but there is something to be said for keeping little ones a little sheltered for a while... my feeling is ya don't have view these scary things for pleasure. Nothing wrong with watching an old classic (non-scary movie)over and over...Doc :D

Probably some good truth to this. It is a story for children. I suppose if a person is old enough to read it, then they should be old enough to watch it. But on the other hand, that old witch in the candy house* liked to fatten children up with candy so she could eat them...I was too young to read when I heard that one. :eek:


I shudder to think of the ant problem a candy house would yield...not to mention the inclement weather. :p

The only other version I recall was a BBC production, they also did prince caspian, voyage of the dawntreader and..hmmm.. one other I think.

We recently bought a copy recently. We haven't watched it yet.
